How the exam works.

  • Questions come from the course material and from a question bank written and reviewed separately.
  • Your own set of 40 questions, with the options shuffled for every attempt.
  • Up to 90 seconds a question, 45 minutes in total.
  • Scored on the server: the answer key never reaches your device. Pass mark 70%, With distinction from 90%.
  • Unsupervised: no webcam and no proctor. The server times every answer, and a certificate earned with outside help can be revoked.
  • After the exam you see your result by topic.

Is this a certificate for tarot readers?

Yes, for readers who want to show what they know. It confirms that you passed Astra's level 1 tarot exam, with a number and a public verification page. It is not a license or a permit to work as a reader.

How is this different from a tarot course with a certificate?

A course certificate says you finished the lessons. This one says you passed an exam on the cards: 40 questions, 70% to pass, whether you learned tarot here, from books or from a teacher.

Is there a free tarot quiz?

Yes. The practice test has 10 questions on the exam topics, with the answers and your result by topic. It is free and needs no sign-up.

Do I have to take a course first?

No. The exam is a separate purchase. The courses help you prepare, and you can pass the exam without them.

Is this an official qualification or a licence?

No. An Astra certificate confirms that you passed an Astra exam. It is not accredited, not a state document, not a licence and not a right to practise.

Who watches me during the exam?

Nobody. Level 1 is an unsupervised exam: no webcam and no proctor. The server keeps the answer key, times every question and flags patterns that look like outside help for review. A certificate earned that way can be revoked.

What if I don't pass?

Your purchase includes 2 attempts. The second opens 24 hours after the first and uses a new set of questions. After that you can buy another attempt, up to 3 attempts in any rolling 30-day period.

How long is the certificate valid?

1 year from the day it is issued. To renew it, take a 15-question renewal test: free with a subscription, at the price of an extra attempt without one.

Can I get a refund?

Yes. You get a full refund within 14 days of purchase, as long as you have not started the exam.

Which languages is the certificate in?

Any of 8: English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Polish, Portuguese and Russian. You get a PDF and an image for social media.

Is my score printed on the certificate?

No. The certificate says Passed, or With distinction from 90%. Your exact score and your results by topic are on the result screen.

I have a subscription. Do I pay for the exam?

No. Level 1 exams in every direction are included in any active plan.

Can I buy it in my country?

Everywhere except the European Union for now. We plan to open the EU later. The practice test is free in every country.
